How to change the battery on the Renault Clio 4

On the Renault Clio 4, the battery is located in the engine compartment and can be replaced in an orderly manner by working with the engine off and the vehicle secured. Before starting, turn everything off, remove the key, and let the car sit for a few minutes to avoid spikes or errors in the control units during disconnection. If you want to reduce the risk of losing settings and adaptations, you can use a maintainer or a power supply connected properly to the positive and ground points; alternatively, proceed without support, being careful not to create accidental contacts. Open the hood and locate the battery. Check how the terminals and the positive terminal cover are arranged, then prepare the area to work without pulling on the wiring. For disassembly, first disconnect the negative terminal (ground) and place it so that it cannot make contact again, then disconnect the positive terminal. At this point, remove the lower fastening system or the bracket that secures the battery and pull the battery upwards with a firm grip, as it is heavy. Clean the mounting surface if necessary and position the new battery in the same orientation as the previous one, making sure it sits properly. Reattach the lower fastening and tighten it so that the battery cannot move. For the final connection, first insert the positive terminal and tighten it, then replace the positive terminal cover and connect the negative terminal last, also tightening it. Finish by checking that the terminals do not rotate by hand, that the cables are not under tension, and that the car starts normally; if you notice incorrect date/time or warnings, restore the settings from the onboard system and check for any messages after a short drive.
