How to Clean the Intake Manifold of the Renault Trafic

Over time, the intake ducts tend to clog due to oil vapours and unburnt fuel; this clogging and the resulting deposits reduce the passage sections, hindering proper airflow, which negatively affects performance and fuel consumption. This can lead to poor functioning of the EGR valve, which may also jam. In cases of severe clogging and deposits, the best solution is to disassemble and clean everything; however, periodic cleaning of the ducts with special sprays can also be adopted. You will need to disconnect the intake manifold hose, start the engine, rev it to maintain around 1,500 RPM, and intermittently spray the product into the duct.
