Renault Megane - Video tutorial
Model: Renault Megane
Megane 1
- Years 1995-2003 The first thing to check to verify the correct operation of the pre-heating system is that the glow plugs themselves are powered by the relative relay: this check can be carried out using a simple pilot light or a multimeter. Then connect one end of the warning light to ground and the other to the glow plug: when the ignition is switched on, the warning light for the glow plugs and the warning light will turn on, then when the warning light on the instrument panel goes out, the warning light will stay on again a few seconds and then turn off. The same check can be repeated by adjusting the multimeter on the scale of 20 Volts in direct current, connecting one end to ground and the other to the glow plug, in this case, when the panel is switched on, the multimeter will indicate the power supply voltage of the glow plugs which will then go zero after a few seconds after the warning light on the instrument panel goes out. Having checked that the power supply arrives correctly, it is necessary to make sure that the glow plugs are efficient: since these are resistances, it is necessary to check that they are not interrupted and that their resistance value is correct; It is possible to check its continuity using the pilot light; disconnect the power supply eye, connect the warning light to the battery positive and the other end to the glow plug: if the light bulb turns on, the glow plug is not interrupted; to measure the electrical resistance value, set the multimeter on the 200 ohm scale, connect one end to ground and the other to the glow plug: an efficient glow plug must have an electrical resistance value below 2 ohms. Finally, the glow plug can be disassembled (blow around its seat to eliminate residues of dirt that could end up in the cylinder) and power it with two battery cables to check that the bulb becomes uniformly incandescent. Apply copper grease to the threads before installing the glow plug.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHow to open the bonnet of the Volkswagen PoloLet's see in this short and simple guide the instructions that will allow us to open the bonnet of the Volkswagen Polo. First of all we open the front door, on the driver's side, and start pulling the opening lever of the engine hood, in order to open the lock; then let's move to the front of the vehicle and unhook the tab that we find on the central part, above the manufacturer's emblem, as shown in the video. At this point we block the bonnet with the lateral rod; then we accompany the bonnet down to close it again! by ScegliAuto More videos
