Oil Additive for Gearbox Leak Repair

If you notice oil spots on the ground near the front left wheel (driver's side), it may be gearbox oil; remove the splash guard from under the engine and assess the oil's consistency: compared to engine oil, gearbox oil is much more viscous; if it is confirmed to be gearbox oil, the leak may be due to a small damage to the gearbox itself: you can attempt to remedy this by adding a specific additive, which however cannot repair seal damage; unscrew the filler cap on the gearbox, let some oil out by lifting the car slightly, and insert the additive; if necessary, add more oil to restore the level (the oil should flow out of the cap).
