Replacing the Cabin Air Filter

Model: Renault Scenic MK III, Scenic 3, Scenic III, MK 3 - Years 2009-2015
Part: Cabin air filter

Replacing the cabin air filter on this car model is not a straightforward task as the filter is located directly behind the central console of the dashboard. To reach it, you must remove the glove compartment; start by unfastening the trim covering the central dashboard to access the screws underneath that secure the glove compartment. To reach the other screws, you need to remove the side cover of the dashboard where the passenger airbag deactivation switch is located, as well as the trim of the door pillar. Once the glove compartment is removed, shift the tube that runs in front of the filter container cap, then remove the cap, extract the old filter, and insert the new one. Proceed in reverse order to reassemble everything.

In this short video, you will see how to remove the ignition switch from a Mercedes C-Class (Mercedes W204). First, remove the chrome trim (if present) around the ignition switch by prying it off with a screwdriver (preferably something soft to avoid damaging the dashboard). Next, remove the plastic trim around the gauge cluster where the tachometer and speedometer are located, as well as the rectangular plastic trim surrounding the steering wheel. Simply unclip it. Now, press and push the ignition switch to release it from the housing, and you're done!
