Frequent replacement of the fuel filter is a simple operation that should be done frequently for maximum performance. The filter is located under the body of the car, therefore to access it, lift the car and secure it, then remove the right wheel. Remove the plastic protection and then remove the filter protection cover by removing the relative screws. Place a plastic sheet in the work area in order to collect the naphtha that could escape. Use a rubber tube to drain the contents of the filter into the tray. The filter is fixed with a front and a rear bracket that must be removed to allow you to remove the hose clamps that lock it to the supply hose. Fill the new filter with fuel using a syringe. Install the new filter paying attention to the flow direction indicated by an arrow on the filter itself. Refit the protective casing. Operate the diesel emergency pump to allow new fuel to flow to the injection pump before unscrewing the valve on the fuel pipe to let the air flow out. Thoroughly clean up any spilled fuel residue to avoid fires.
