Replacement of Engine Oil and Oil Filter

Model: Renault Scenic - Years 1996-2003
Part: Engine oil

Using an Allen key, gently unscrew the oil sump plug, allowing the oil to drain into a container. Open the oil filler cap on the engine to allow it to drain completely. Using a hose clamp spanner, gently unscrew the oil filter by acting on the body and remove it from its seat. Empty the residual oil from the container and the filter into a container. Clean the filter seat thoroughly with a cloth. Replace the rubber seal of the container. Replace the used cartridge with a new one of the same type. Refit the oil filter, ensuring it is screwed in correctly, and top up with new oil. Do not dispose of used oil in the environment; take it to the appropriate collection centres.

How to Remove the Cabin Fan Resistor on a Mercedes A-Class W169

If the cabin fan speed does not change when adjusted or only activates at maximum speed, the fan resistor may be damaged. Replacing it is fairly easy, and the part is readily available. The resistor is located right behind the center console, but you can access it by removing the trim panel directly below the steering column and then detaching the side cover of the tunnel. At this point, you can easily reach the resistor and its power connector; just pull it out of its housing to replace it.
