Where is the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) located on the Renault Captur? The legal number, which the Police may ask to see during a check, is found inside the boot, engraved in the compartment under the mat placed beneath the spare wheel (if the vehicle is equipped with one). Other locations where the chassis number is displayed include: the courtesy label on the left side of the windscreen, and the metal plate located on the thickness of the driver's door (or on its edge, depending on the vehicle), which also shows the internal and external colour codes of the vehicle.

Additionally, it can be found in the vehicle registration document, specifically in section 2, letter E).
