Let's see how to reset the service light on a Skoda Octavia: insert the key without turning on the instrument cluster, and hold down the "reset" button of the trip odometer on the cluster; now turn on the cluster while still holding the button. The message "service" or "service reset" will appear. Release the button and turn the knob to adjust the maintenance interval (the standard is 15,000 miles and 365 days). Confirm by pressing "reset" again; turn off and turn back on for confirmation. If the system does not work, you will need to use a diagnostic tool to access the control unit and reset the service manually.
