How to maintain the 7-speed DSG gearbox of the Skoda Karoq

When purchasing the filter, do not forget to also buy the gasket, which is sold separately. Lift the car and remove the protection. Remove the first plug with an 8 mm spanner, from which the level will be checked, then unscrew the second plug with a 6 mm spanner, which is for the mechatronics: oil will flow out from here. Allow the oil to drain completely from both holes. Install the new mechatronics plug, tightening it to 10 Nm + 45°, while the level plug only requires 3 Nm. Now we need to replace the filter, and to access it, the battery will need to be removed. The filter is located on top of the gearbox, protected by a small heat shield; it is unscrewed with a 24 mm socket: use rags as more oil will come out. Install the new filter (and gasket) and then reinstall the battery. Now connect the filling pump (from the same hole from which the level plug was removed). About 6.5 litres of new oil are needed. Lower the car (but not completely), connect the OBD2 scanner, and turn on the ignition. Go to "measured values" in the "autotrans" module and find the "gearbox temperature" value. Now start the engine and move the gear lever, holding it in each position for at least 3 seconds. The level adjustment should be done between 35 and 45°C. Lift the vehicle with the engine running, remove the adapter from the filling hole, and excess oil will begin to flow out. Turn off the engine and immediately reinstall the control plug with a new gasket, tightening to 45 Nm.
