Skoda Fabia - Video tutorial

Model: Skoda Fabia Mark2, 5J - Years 2007-2014
Part: Battery
Operation: How to replace the battery of the Skoda Fabia 2 diesel

Replacing the battery of your Skoda Fabia 2 diesel is a rather simple procedure and requires the use of very few tools. Once you open the hood, you will find the battery in front of you, at the bottom right (when looking at the engine compartment). It is important to know that you must never start by first removing the positive terminal from the battery, in order to avoid possible damage to the car's electrical components. Then proceed to loosen the bolt of the negative pole clamp, until it will allow you to remove the clamp itself, which you will place to the side. Open the plastic cover marked by the + sign, under which you will find the positive pole: loosen the bolt here too and using a screwdriver as a lever, remove the clamp and the plastic support, as previously done with the negative and put it to the side. You just have to unscrew the bolt that holds the battery frontally, now you are ready to be able to remove the battery to be replaced. Clean the inside of the terminals that you will later reattach to the battery with a small piece of paper to remove any traces of oxidation and place the new battery in its compartment, immediately screwing the front support bolt back on. Replace the clamp and cover of the positive pole, reattaching it correctly, tighten the bolt and make sure it is properly secured; then switch to the negative pole, reattach the clamp and screw the relative bolt well and you're done.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
