How to Replace the Battery on a Skoda Fabia 2 Diesel

Replacing the battery on your Skoda Fabia 2 diesel is a relatively simple procedure that requires very few tools. Once you open the bonnet, you will find the battery in front of you, on the bottom right (looking into the engine bay). It is important to know that you should never start by removing the positive terminal from the battery to avoid potential damage to the vehicle's electrical components. Proceed to loosen the bolt on the negative terminal until you can remove the terminal itself, placing it to the side. Open the plastic cover marked with a + sign, under which you will find the positive terminal: also loosen the bolt here and, using a screwdriver as a lever, remove the terminal and the plastic support, as you did previously with the negative terminal and place it to the side. All that remains is to unscrew the bolt that holds the battery in place at the front; now you are ready to extract the battery for replacement. Clean the inside of the terminals with a piece of paper to remove any oxidation traces and place the new battery in its compartment, immediately re-screwing the front support bolt. Reattach the terminal and cover of the positive terminal, securing it properly, screw the bolt tight, and then move on to the negative terminal, reattaching the terminal and tightening the corresponding bolt, and you're done.
