Replacing Car Suspension

This practical guide shows how to replace your car's suspension. The suspension helps absorb the shocks that reach the vehicle through the compression and expansion of a gas contained within. Each suspension unit consists of a sealed rubber spring, utilising the compressed air generated by the compressor; without these, the wheels would lose grip on the road, leading to a loss of vehicle control. The first step is to lift the car with a jack and remove the wheel: put it in reverse and engage the handbrake, then remove the inner wheel arch, which is secured by three plastic nuts, pushing from the bottom upwards to release it. Once done, the wheel arch comes off easily; now position the jack under the cradle on the shock absorber side. When it comes out, align the vehicle to facilitate removal, then unscrew the bolt that holds the shock absorber using the same procedure as the lower one. Proceed to fit the new part: secure the lower part first; once done, it may not be aligned, just press while looking from the side, and you will be able to secure the bolts easily.
