In this video, learn how to change the engine oil along with the filter of a Smart. Lift your car on a column lift or jack and open the engine compartment located in the boot.

Using a socket wrench with the appropriate socket, unscrew the bolt located under the oil sump to allow the oil to drain into a container for future disposal. After draining all the oil, re-screw the bolt into the oil sump.

Unscrew the filter with a strap wrench, lubricate the new filter, and screw it into its housing. Finally, top up the oil reservoir with the new fluid following the manufacturer's recommendations. -Socket wrench -Strap wrench.
