To replace the door lock on a Smart, open the door to access the screws located on the inner side. Loosen these screws to completely detach the external handle and the internal lock.

Disconnect the lock from its corresponding connector to replace it with a new part. The new lock can then be connected to its connector, inserted into the door, and secured with the appropriate screws.
