To replace the fuel pump in the Smart ForFour, you need to work in the rear interior of the car: start by moving the front and rear seats forward (if they move), lift the rear seats by pulling the lever, remove the boot trim, disconnect the various fuel connectors, the power connector, and remove the fuel pump. Take the new fuel pump, place it in its seat, and reconnect the power connector and the various fuel connectors in order, replace the boot trim, lower the rear seats, and the operation is complete.
