SAM Smart 450 ECU problem solving

The failure of the headlights, or the malfunction of the central locking, the switching off of the instrument panel, the failure to start the engine, all known defects of the Smart 450 and which depend on a fault in a 12-way connector located on the SAM control unit and it can be recognized because it is brown in color; It is very easy to find this connector with the relative fastons or many offer it already wired and therefore one has to limit oneself to carrying out the correct soldering; therefore, once the SAM has been released from its seat (immediately under the dashboard on the driver's side), unhook the brown connector and one wire at a time, cut and connect to the corresponding wire of the new one, protecting the joint with heat-shrink sheath.
