How to Repair the Alternator by Replacing the Regulator

Model: Volkswagen Transporter T4, MK 4 - Years 1990-2003

This video shows the procedure for repairing the alternator of the Volkswagen T4 Transporter. Once you locate the alternator, disconnect it from the battery by removing the connector and take out the bolts securing its plastic cover. Now, also unscrew the two screws that hold the voltage regulator; take the new regulator and compare it with the one you removed, then fit it onto the alternator and screw it in as it was before. Refit the plastic cover of the alternator and re-tighten its three securing screws. Reconnect the alternator to the battery. As a final step, check if the alternator is charging the battery.
