How to replace the battery of a Smart

Model: Smart Smart 450 - Years 1998-2007
Part: Battery

In this video tutorial we are shown how to replace the battery in a 2005 Smart 450. The new battery recommended in the video is Titanium Fiamm model L2 60P 12V. It is a larger battery than the standard one and therefore avoids starting problems typical of the 450 and 451 models. In the Smart 450 the battery is found under the carpet on the passenger side; first of all we will therefore have to remove the carpet and the underlying protection by unscrewing the two plastic screws on it. Once the protection is removed we will have access to the battery. We remove the protection of the positive pole and with a 10mm wrench we unscrew the bracket; then with a pair of scissors we remove the clamp and with the 10 key we unscrew the screws of both the negative and positive poles, and then detach them from the battery. At this point we can extract the battery and replace it by inserting the new battery in the appropriate space.

How to Replace the Engine Air Filter on a Volkswagen Polo

Remove the engine air filter from a Volkswagen Polo: open the car door, pull up the engine compartment release lever located at the bottom left of the dashboard and lift the front bonnet, securing it with the prop rod. Remove the engine soundproofing panel (if necessary), then open the air box (unscrew the securing screws), remove the cover of the filter box and take out the engine air filter. Insert a new filter into the dedicated housing (ensuring it fits snugly around the edges). Finally, refit the air box cover and tighten the screws. Close the front bonnet after maintenance.
