How to Remove the Passenger Seat in a Smart Fortwo

In this video tutorial, you will see how to remove the passenger seat in a first-generation Smart Fortwo, produced from 1998 to 2007. First, prepare the necessary tools for the seat removal: a Torx T45 key and a 17mm spanner. Remove the eight bolts securing the seat to the frame (four for each). The rear bolts are positioned in the same locations for both seats, while the front ones are slightly different. Unscrew the bolts with a Torx T45 key, then remove the seatbelt by simply sliding it out of the slot above the seat and unscrewing the bolt below with a 17mm spanner. Now you can remove the seat from its position.
