The replacement of the Smart Fortwo's spark plugs is done by opening the rear trunk and locating the engine at the back of the car. Here, it will be necessary to disconnect and remove the ignition coils from their housing, so that access to the underlying part can be obtained. Lift the vehicle on suitable axle stands, remove the front wheels, and then the front bumper and grille. Proceed to remove the front headlights; drain the coolant, remove the intercooler radiator and the hoses connecting it to the intake system.
