Timing Belt Replacement and Water Pump Removal and Replacement

Model: Subaru Legacy BP, BL, MK 4 - Years 2003-2009
Part: Timing belt

The following video shows how to replace the timing belt on a Subaru Legacy. The water pump is also removed and replaced. First, remove the timing cover by unscrewing the small 10 mm bolts that secure it. Loosen and unscrew the 10 mm bolts of the tensioner cover. Use metal pins to lock the pulleys by inserting them into the holes near the hub to secure their exact position for when the new belt is installed. Now remove the belt: using a 15 mm ratchet, loosen the central bolt. It can be removed simply by slightly locking the tensioner with a pin. After removing its bolt, also remove the worn tensioner and the 13 mm bolt above it. Take a new tensioner and install it exactly like the old one. Loosen it a bit, then insert the new belt, positioning it to align with the timing marks. At this point, release the tensioner and set it correctly. The pins near the pulleys must also be removed. Simultaneously, the water pump is also removed and replaced: first, drain the engine oil. Use a wrench to remove the 10 mm bolts securing the water pump cover. Then, remove the impeller and gasket of the water pump. Install a new gasket for the pump.

How to Replace the Window Regulator on the BMW X3

Replacing the window regulator mechanism requires removing the door panel and the aluminum underpanel to access the mechanism itself. Remove the motor and loosen the glass retaining clips to complete the removal of the window regulator. Attach the motor to the new mechanism and insert the assembled unit back into the door, securing it with the appropriate nuts. Then, insert the glass and tighten the clips, completing the installation by connecting the motor's power connector and performing a functionality check before reassembling all other components.
