How to Change the Engine Oil and Filter on Subaru Crosstrek Mk2

This guide shows how to change the engine oil on a Subaru Crosstrek Mk2. The first step is to secure the vehicle and open the oil filler cap. From underneath the vehicle, remove the 14 mm bolt and let the old oil drain into a suitable container. Once all the oil has drained, reinstall the bolt with a new gasket and clean up any residue. From the engine compartment, to the left of the oil filler cap, you will find the engine oil filter. Remove the old cartridge and clean up any fluid residue. Install the new cartridge, lubricating its gasket. Fill the oil reservoir and start the engine for a few minutes. Check the oil level and top off as necessary.
