Today in this guide, we will see how to perform routine maintenance on the Subaru Ascent by replacing the motor oil and oil filter. First, we lift the vehicle and begin draining the oil by unscrewing the drain plug located on the oil pan and letting it drain into a container for about ten minutes. Then, we unscrew and replace the oil filter cartridge located in the engine compartment, as shown in the video. At this point, we unscrew the fill cap and refill with new oil, checking the oil level with the dipstick!
