Before starting to understand how the heating and air conditioning work in the Subaru Outback, secure your vehicle on a ramp or a flat surface, well immobilised. This is to ensure the operator's safety. It is a precaution to take whenever performing maintenance on a vehicle. Now, below the dashboard display, on the left, is the switch for the air flow power. The left knob indicates the temperature for the driver, which can be adjusted. The right knob serves the same function for the passenger. The button below the left knob indicates recirculation, while the button with the fans controls the air flow and its direction.
