How to Remove the Lumbar Support from the Subaru Outback

If your back cannot tolerate the rigidity of the lumbar support, which causes pain instead of alleviating it, you can remove it from your Subaru Outback quite easily. The front seats have side zips, so you can easily open them. Once you pull up the fabric, you will see a rigid plastic support bent inside, held in place by a metal bar, which is the lumbar support. To remove it, loosen the two plastic clips that hold the metal bar in place. Once these two clips are removed, the plastic support will come away easily. Now you can close the zips of the covering, and the job is complete.
