How to Remove and Replace the Driveshaft on Your Vehicle

Model: Subaru Outback BP, MK 3, BL - Years 2003-2009
Part: Axle shaft

In this tutorial, describe how to replace a damaged or worn driveshaft. Start by removing the wheel. Next, note that the brake disc is connected to the driveshaft via a securing bolt. Using a socket spanner, remove that nut. With the driveshaft now slightly freer, begin by disconnecting the disc from the shock absorber. After detaching the sensors and brake lines, use a spring support to keep the disc and caliper stable while removing the driveshaft. Once everything is detached using a puller, free the driveshaft from the differential by levering it out. Now that you have removed the old driveshaft, take the new one. Once complete, insert the driveshaft into the differential and use firm taps with a hammer to seat it properly. After this operation, you will find a new nut at the end that will securely fasten the driveshaft to the brake disc. Now that this phase is complete, simply reassemble everything necessary at the shock absorber and it will all function perfectly.

How to Install Roof Bars on a Fiat 500L

Learn how to fit universal roof bars on a Fiat 500L. These bars are used on vehicles with or without roof rails. Assemble the roof bar kit (as shown in the video) with bars adjusted to the width of the vehicle (measure with a tape measure). Position the brackets at both ends of the doors on the vehicle's original roof rails. Once the anchoring bracket width is set, tighten the bolts with a butterfly nut (if a lock is present) until fully secured to the roof rails. Fit safety caps on both sides.
