How the Differential Lock Works on a Suzuki Grand Vitara

In this video, you will see how to engage the differential lock on a Suzuki Grand Vitara: everything is controlled by a selector located on the central dashboard, which is operated with the engine running and the gearbox in "neutral". To switch the vehicle from road mode to 4x4 mode, the selector must be positioned on "4H". If you want to engage the differential lock and therefore shift into low range, move the selector to "4L". At this point, you can also disable the "ESP" system, which is not only unnecessary in low range but can actually be a hindrance while driving.
