On a Toyota Prius, the boot may become stuck, for example, due to a problem with the control button or the lock actuator. In these cases, it is still possible to perform an emergency opening by following the simple procedure shown in this tutorial.

First, open the rear doors, then lower the backrest of the seats and go into the boot area. Next, lift the floor panel, open the small indicated hatch, and manually operate the lock.

The boot will now be free to open.
