This video shows how to replace the bulb for the door open warning light on a Toyota Avensis MK3. This light is located below the glove compartment and illuminates when the door is opened, making it visible in the dark to those approaching from the same side.

Use a plastic spatula to remove the lens from its housing.

Without disconnecting the electrical connector, take off the rear part of the lamp and replace the bulb - which can be easily found in any electronics store - without touching it with your hands. Refit the cover, snap the front part back into place, and the job is done.
