To reset the "Service" light on a Toyota RAV4, turn on the instrument cluster without starting the engine. Use the buttons on the steering wheel, particularly the "Menu" or "Settings" button, to access the onboard computer. Once the menu is open, scroll with the directional arrows until you find the "Maintenance" or "Service Intervals" section. From here, select the option to reset the maintenance interval and confirm by pressing the centre button. You may need to hold it down for a few seconds to confirm the process. The display will indicate that the reset has been completed, and the "Service" light should turn off, signalling the update of the service interval. To verify that the reset has been successful, turn off and then turn on the ignition. If the light does not come back on, the operation was successful.
