Here’s how to remove a starter motor on a Toyota Yaris. First, disconnect the battery cables using a socket wrench. Lift the vehicle with a column lift or jack and remove the lower engine cover using a screwdriver and pliers. Disconnect the power terminals of the starter motor with pliers or a screwdriver, depending on the pressure of the tabs. Unscrew the mounting bolts of the starter motor with a socket wrench and remove it from the engine bay. Finally, install the new starter motor with the power cables and the associated mounting screws.
