DIY Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement
Model: Toyota Rav 4

Lift the vehicle on a hydraulic lift or on suitable axle stands. Remove any splash guard: you can easily locate the drain plug of the oil sump and the filter positioned right in front of the sump. Place a container of suitable capacity (approximately 5 litres) under the drain plug and remove the plug to allow the used oil to drain out (it is advisable to open the oil filler cap). While keeping the container underneath, loosen the oil filter (using the appropriate tool or a metal strap wrench), let the remaining oil drain out, and then remove it. At this point, apply the new filter after coating the gasket with oil to improve adhesion and tighten it by hand; reattach the sump plug and fill the engine with new oil according to the SAE specifications and the quantities indicated in the user manual.
