What is the purpose of the "ES" button located on the central tunnel of the Toyota Auris? "ES" stands for "Electric Sport" and it is a sport driving mode for hybrid versions. When you press this button, the transmission becomes more responsive and holds the gears longer; the throttle response is immediately improved, and the car responds more quickly. The hybrid performance is enhanced; meaning that the hybrid system uses the electric motor in a more sporty way. If we are overtaking or driving on winding roads, the driving feel is more dynamic. Therefore, it is advisable to use it for safe overtaking, when driving on mountain roads, or when you want a more spirited drive. It goes without saying that this mode can slightly increase fuel consumption. To deactivate it, press the button again.
