How to Reset the Oil Light on a Toyota Corolla MK2

Model: Toyota Corolla MK 2 - Years 2000-2007

This procedure works for Toyota Corollas with an electronic oil maintenance light (usually models from the late '90s to early 2000s). Insert the key and turn on the instrument cluster, watching the central odometer display. Now turn the key to the "off" position and hold down the trip odometer button, then without releasing the button, turn the key back to the "on" position. Observe the central display: you will see a countdown from 5 to 1 (or dashes). When the display shows zero and then returns to the normal odometer, the light is reset.
