How to replace the headlights on the Toyota Prius MK2

Let’s see how to replace the front headlights on the Toyota Prius MK2: it is an operation that requires removing the bumper. Remove the wheel cover, unlock the bumper by unscrewing the 10 mm screws underneath, at the sides, and in the grille; disconnect the fog light connectors and cable clips, then pull the bumper forward to detach it. Now remove the old headlight; unscrew the 3 screws that secure the headlight (on top and the side), then release the adjustment clip at the bottom with a screwdriver and pull the headlight towards you. Now disconnect the three electrical connectors. Transfer the bulbs to the new headlight, being careful not to touch the glass of the bulb, and reassemble them on the new headlight. Connect the connectors to the new headlight, insert the headlight into its housing, and screw in the three securing screws. Refit the bumper (in reverse order to disassembly); reconnect the fog lights and all clips. After this, it will be necessary to adjust the headlights by measuring the height of the centre of the projector from the ground. Mark the same height on a wall, then lower the reference point by 10 cm. Behind the headlight, there is the adjustment screw: horizontally it moves the beam left/right while vertically it raises and lowers it. The top edge of the light beam should align with the marked line on the wall.
