Replacing Brake Pads on the Toyota Aygo

Replacing the brake pads is a maintenance task that can easily be done DIY; before lifting the vehicle, loosen the wheel fastening bolts to complete the removal once lifted; at this point, unscrew the fastening bolts of the brake caliper to remove it from its bracket, then extract the old pads and the associated sliding plates, clean the bracket before inserting the new sliding plates and pads, applying copper grease; then push back the brake caliper piston using the appropriate tool (a pair of adjustable pliers will also work) before refitting it onto the bracket and finally installing the wheel, tightening the bolts after lowering the vehicle to the ground.
