How do you change the filter in the fuel pump on a Yaris? Let's see how to remove the filter from the fuel pump. Remove the rear seat cushions of the car. Using a socket wrench, unscrew the securing screws of the metal cap, remove it from its seat, and use absorbent paper around the perimeter to soak up any spills. Unscrew the fuel pump, disconnect the power connectors and the fluid circulation hoses. Extract the floating fuel pump from its seat. Remove the filter located on it. Fit the new filter onto the pump.
