Gearbox Oil Replacement

The gearbox oil also requires periodic replacement. If you experience gear engagement problems, it is advisable to replace the oil as soon as possible. Lift the vehicle and position a suitable container under the engine to collect the used oil. Open the filler cap to allow air to enter. Slowly unscrew the oil drain plug from the gearbox sump and let it drain. Securely close the plug and refill the gearbox with the appropriate oil; the correct oil level is at the edge of the filler hole. Do not dispose of used oil in the environment; take it to designated collection centres.

How to Check the Oil Level on a Jeep Renegade?

To check the oil level on a Jeep Renegade, you need to open the bonnet to access the components inside the engine bay: on the lower left side of the engine block, you will find the dipstick for checking the level. This should be pulled out and thoroughly cleaned with a cloth: once cleaned, reinsert it back into its tube and pull it out immediately after. This way, you can check that the oil mark is between the minimum and maximum levels; finally, you can place the dipstick back in its tube.
