To replace the timing chain tensioner on a Toyota Corolla, lift the car using a ramp and loosen the bolts securing the right front wheel, completely removing it along with the inner wheel arch cover. Once these are removed, locate the timing chain tensioner and remove it by loosening the bolts that secure it to its housing. The new tensioner can then be installed, securing it with the bolts and placing the chain around it. Finally, remount the wheel and the inner wheel arch cover.
