The drive belt is that component of the engine which is responsible for synchronizing the operation of the crankshaft with the relative camshaft. In some cases, the belt can also take care of the proper functioning of the water pump which, of course, is responsible for properly cooling the engine. The belts are very resistant, as their material has the ability to withstand the continuous tension and sudden changes in temperature affecting the engine throughout its use.
