The first step is to extract the emergency key, then use the same key to pry open the rear cover of the remote at the joint between the two halves. Under the cover, you will find the circuit board, which you can remove, and beneath it, you will find the battery compartment. Remove the old battery and replace it with the new one, then reposition the circuit board and snap the cover back on.
