The first step is to get into the vehicle, turn off the engine, and pull the handbrake; pull the bonnet release lever and lift the bonnet, securing it with the prop rod. Unscrew the negative terminal of the battery, then the positive terminal (fold the negative terminal down to avoid contact); remove the bracket holding the battery in place, lift the battery out of its housing. Position the new battery, first screw on the positive terminal and then the negative terminal, and refit the bracket.
