On the Toyota Highlander, it may happen that the fuel filler door gets stuck, for example, due to a fault with the release lever or actuator. In this case, it is still possible to perform the emergency opening by following the simple procedure shown in this tutorial.

First, open the tailgate, then remove the small panel located on the left wall of the compartment, about halfway up. Next, locate the white lever, grasp it, and pull it towards the rear of the vehicle to unlock the fuel filler door.
