To deactivate the tailgate opening chime on the Toyota Highlander, access the lower part of the rear bumper to locate the cables in this position. Here, you will find the connector related to the sensor that controls the chime's operation: simply disconnecting this connector will prevent the chime from activating. You will notice that when opening the tailgate, the chime will no longer sound; to reactivate it, reconnect the appropriate connector inside the bumper.
