To replace the timing belt on a Toyota RAV 4, you need to remove the engine from its bay to access the left side of the engine block. Here, remove the plastic panel under which the pulleys and the timing belt are located: by loosening the nut that secures the tensioner pulley, you can reduce its tension and completely remove it, replacing it with a new part. Then, reinsert the tensioner pulley, the protective panel, and reinstall the engine in its bay.
