How to Change the Starter Battery of the Toyota Prius MK2

In this video, you will see how to change the battery of the Toyota Prius MK2. First, note that the battery is not located in the front bonnet but in the rear, in a compartment on the left wheel arch. Remove the plastic cover and then take off the securing bracket that holds it to the metal floor; these are 10 mm bolts. Disconnect the negative terminal first, followed by the positive terminal located under the red plastic cover. At this point, grasp the battery by the handle and pull it out. Clean the housing thoroughly and place the new battery in position. Reconnect the positive terminal first, then the negative terminal, and refit the securing bracket. Finally, replace the plastic cover: your work is complete.
