How to Change the Key Battery on the Toyota Prius

Model: Toyota Prius MK 1 - Years 2004-2009

If pressing the lock and unlock buttons on the remote does not activate the locks, the first thing to check is whether the battery is still functional (CR 1632 model, 3 Volt). On the side of the remote, there is a rubber button that must be pressed to extract the mechanical key, commonly known as the blade. At this point, you can lever between the two halves of the remote key in the designated slot to separate them and access the battery compartment. Proceed to remove the old battery and insert the new one, ensuring it is positioned correctly to respect the polarity.
