How to Change the Battery in the Toyota Prius Remote

To change the battery in the Toyota Prius remote, start by pressing the side button to release the emergency key. Using this key, insert it into the slot at the bottom of the remote, lift the cover slightly, and remove it. Once the cover is off, you will see the battery that needs replacing. Take the new battery (CR1632 battery code) out of its packaging, use the key to lift the battery out of its housing, take the new battery and insert it into the housing with the + side facing up, and press it in to secure it. Refit the battery housing with the buttons facing down, replace the remote cover until you hear a click, reinsert the emergency key into its slot, and test the new battery.
