How to Replace the Key Fob Battery on a Toyota Prius

Model: Toyota Prius Xw30, MK 2 - Years 2009-2015

Remove the metal key from the Toyota Prius key fob. Once the metal key is removed, insert it between the two plastic halves of the fob to separate them. Use a small screwdriver to extract the worn battery and take a new one of the same type and voltage to avoid issues. Fit the new battery and press the plastic halves of the fob together until you hear a click. Check if the key fob works correctly.
