How to Change the Battery in the Prius Remote Key

In this article, you will learn how to replace the battery in the Toyota Prius key/remote. To change the battery, you will need a CR2032 battery and a small flathead screwdriver. First, remove the emergency key using the designated release button and pull it out. Once removed, use the key to insert it into the slot located on the part of the key where the emergency key is placed, lever it open to access the remote. Once the cover is lifted, use the flathead screwdriver to remove the old battery, then insert the new battery, close the remote by pressing it together, and finally reinsert the emergency key into its slot.
